The fact that he was standing there with Kevin indicates that the "cute" little guy whose cheeks that everyone want's to "squish" was going to get the emotional vote. I don't think he meant Sway was going to lose because of his looks. Simon just meant that Sway was going to lose out to Kevin because Kevin has certain factors on his side other than vocals, such as 1) girls think he's cute, 2) his dweeby looks make him an underdog, 2) the sympathy vote, etc. I think Simon just meant that Sway was going to lose to Kevin despite the fact that Sway was a better singer. Like you, I was a little disappointed that Sway lost to a slightly lesser singer (Kevin), but I was not surprised. It really doesn't matter anyway because while Sway is an okay singer, he is not great, and would not have survived this week even if he had advanced, just as Kevin is not going to survive this week.
